The Poet of the Word: Christology in the Work of T.S. Eliot

Title: The Poet of the Word: Christology in the Work of T.S. Eliot The thesis focuses on the Christological analysis of the work of T. S. Eliot, a poet, dramatist and critic. The thesis is divided into two chapters. The first chapter describes historical and cultural background of Eliot's work, basic facts about his life and his literary and critical input. The first chapter is concluded by a reflection about the reception of T. S. Eliot in the Czech Republic and about the translation of his work to Czech. The second chapter contains the Christological analysis of Eliot's poetry and plays. The chapter starts with an analysis of Christological titles in individual poems. The second part of the chapter deals with the important moments of Jesus' life mentioned in Eliot's poems and dramas. Christrology and soteriology in the sermons of Dr.Ph. Josef Čeněk of Wartenburk (1765 - 1843)

With Dr. Ph Josef Čeněk of Wartenberk, auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Hradec Králové, later of Salzburg, we find ourselves in the Austrian Empire, at the time of Josephinism, in a turbulent era of the first half of the nineteenth century. Josef Čeněk enters actively into the era of national revival, when it is possible for him to publish several volumes of his Sermons in Czech language, in order to shape believers and bring them to deeper knowledge of the Catholic faith. In this work, we follow his concept of Christology and Soteriology, how he understands the person of Jesus Christ and how he presents him to believers. The Christian Rejection of Animal Sacrifice and the New-Testament Conception of the Christ's Death

The Christian Rejection of Animal Sacrifice and the New-Testament Conception of the Christ's Death Abstract The thesis describes the relationship between the phenomenon of the animal sacrifice and the death of Jesus Christ. At the beginning of my study, I explain the basic interpretative categories that can help answer the role and substance of the blood sacrifice practice in the context of ritual activities of the archaic civilizations. Particular attention is paid to the Old Testament cult, because the sacrificial terminology, originating from this milieu, served within the framework of the New Testament canon as one of the fundamental ways to express Jesus Christ's death mystery. The thesis follows up on modern anthropological theories of the animal sacrifice; in comparison with the specific Christian concept of the sacrifice, it shows how Christ's unritual death and forms of its appropriation by believers might be considered the fulfillment and surpassing of all existing forms of sacrifice. 20th Century Theologies of Play - Hugo Rahner and Jurgen Moltmann: Blind Alley

The aim of the present text is play and playing along all respective forms from the perspective of systematic theology. Two most comprehensive play theologiesas presented in the books Der Spielende Mensch by Hugo Rahner and Die Ersten Freigelassenen der Schöpfung by Jürgen Moltmann and connected writings are analysed. The analysis expands on the understanding of play as play and ensuing theological interpretations, as portrayed by both authors, in the context of their theological legacy, professional endeavours and historical circumstances relating to the time of inception of their respective play theologies. Such play theologies are outlined both on the general level and presented inparticular details and points of emphasis in terms of systematic theology. Sources of inspiration, direct motivations to engage in play theologies arepresented from the perspective of both respective theologians as well as thereception and impact of their writings. Consequently, a comparison of both play theologies is presented. Their compatibility is argued both on the level of key eschatological and soteriological conclusions as well as foundations emphasising freedom, joy and creativity as fundamental theological qualities of play. Thesis "The Christological, soteriological and relevant spiritual topics in the Dostoevsky Work The Brothers Karamazov" applies to the life and literary heritage of the Russian writer Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, especially to his master piece The Brothers Karamazov. The novel summarizes the writer's life ideas which have matured throughout life. In this work, the emphasis is primarily put on finding and describing christological and soteriological features contained in the novel demonstrating the author's inner conviction and faith in Jesus Christ. The thesis also points to some spiritual themes, which are crucial in the literary work, such as human suffering and questions of faith and human freedom. Then Who Can Be Saved? Three Affirmative Approaches to a Soteriological Universalism (Barth, Tillich, Rahner)

This bachelor thesis entitled "Then who can be saved?" deals with the approach of three important theologiansof the 20thcentury to soteriologicaluniversalism. The first chapter introduces inclusive passages of the New Testament and the old-church authors who are welcoming to the question of the salvation of all men. In the main part, the thesis deals with two protestant theologians Karl Barth and Paul Tillich and one theologian of the Roman Catholic Church Karl Rahner. The thesis briefly mentions their lives and works, and then deals with the description of their concepts and ideas that testify their openness to the issue of salvation offered far beyond the Christian churches. In their example, author wants to show the legitimacy of the topic in contemporary Christian thinking.

The universal inclusivist soteriology (of Pauline type?) according to Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

This bachelor thesis elaborates the topic of ontological and functional significance of the person of Jesus Christ, according to French philosopher and scientist PierreTeilhard de Chardin. At present time, his theological contribution is appreciated by Pope Benedict XVI and Francis. But many of his thoughts and genial writings were censored and forbidden in the preconciliar Catholic discourse during his lifetime. All his major works were published posthumously. However, he still remains a controversial author. The study aims to assess whether it could be considered the functional christology of Teilhard de Chardin as the universal inclusivist soteriology of Pauline type. The basis and frame of reference for coparison are proto-Pauline epistles of The New Testament (especially Romans, First Corinthians and Philippians). The inclusivist concept of salvation in the works of Teilhard de Chardin can be come the starting-point for ecumenical dialogue between the Christian denominations that share the Apostle Paul.
